Saturday, September 15th was a beautiful day! What a joy to see 87 students graduate in the fall commencement ceremony at the Pueblo Convention Center. The first graduating class of 29 Cosmetology students in their black gowns with royal blue tassels coupled with the first graduates from the Medical Administrative Technician programs made this a very special event. Upon a Star, a community performance group, entertained the audience while the processional was being prepared, adding a special touch.
Marine Corp veteran and City Councilman Leroy Garcia gave the commencement address congratulating the sacrifice and achievement of the graduates.
Kryste Brown, a Cosmetology instructor, was named Faculty of The Year. Sabrina Herrera, a Medical Assistant graduate, was named Student of the Year, and Bernadette Salazar, Financial Aid Representative, received the IntelliTec Spirit Award.
