So you are sitting in a job interview and the supervisor asks you to describe a time when you had to deal with an angry customer. You are asked to detail what happened, what you did, and how everyone felt afterward. Oh my!! You can’t remember a thing! Where do you start?
You start before you are called for an interview. This is how you can prepare…write a story. Write a story? Yes! Write a story titled “My Most Successful Customer Service Experience”, and then detail what happened during this event. Two things will happen. You prepared your thoughts in your head to properly answer the interview question and you have imprinted this answer to your memory so you will be ready to answer it later during the real interview.
Here are a few interview questions that you can write stories about:
- Describe your strengths.
- Describe your weaknesses and what you do to overcome them.
- Describe a time when you were motivated to go above and beyond. What motivated you and why?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- Be creative and be honest. Write a story about yourself that will help you remember your answers to questions that usually cause you to stumble. It’s your story…
