Press Release – For Immediate Release
Pueblo, Colorado – IntelliTec College of Pueblo’s Cosmetology students provided makeovers to 30 consumers of Pueblo Diversified Industries just hours before their annual prom event on April 19th. The cosmetology school students were honored to practice their skills on those who truly deserve it.
Pueblo Diversified Industries (PDI) is a company that offers jobs to mentally disabled people of all ages. Many consumers of PDI had never been to a prom before, and the facility happily provided them with a prom setting. The women of PDI were able to get their hair, make-up and nails done. In addition, they were provided with gowns donated by the Pueblo Police Department. They also enjoyed a spaghetti dinner before the dance to complete their prom experience.
“The makeovers turned out fabulous. Each woman felt and looked amazing. All involved were very excited and honored – both consumers and students,” says IntelliTec Cosmetology instructor Kryste Brown. IntelliTec students who participate in two events like this during their 15-month Cosmetology program will receive a special certificate.
Brown comments “Every student felt honored to help, everything that was done to the employees was appreciated.” She adds “We appreciate every opportunity to help in the community as much as possible.” She offers the cosmetology school’s services to other organizations’ events.[boilerplate about-pueblo]
