Press Release – For Immediate Release
Grand Junction, Colorado – IntelliTec College in Grand Junction will host 2 holiday celebrations this year, complete with themed refreshments and visits from Santa. The IntelliTec campus is also a designated drop off site for Toys for Tots and Mel’s Coat Drive. Students, staff and the general public are invited to donate goods at the campus located at 772 Horizon Drive, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
Campus Director Dr. David Scott commends IntelliTec students for their efforts with the charity drives, saying “Our students have been the driving force behind sponsoring both of these events.”
The toys will be distributed to children and families in need around the community on the 20th and 21st. IntelliTec College is an official drop-off location for all of Mesa County, so anyone from around the community can bring in their donations. IntelliTec has been participating in Toy for Tots for approximately 8-10 years and will continue to take part as long as there is need.
IntelliTec is also participating in Mel’s Coat Drive. Students, faculty and staff have been asked to donate new or gently used coats and winter clothing for those in need around Mesa County. A donation box has been set up in the Tec Café and will remain there until the New Year. Donations are picked up weekly for distribution. This drive was introduced as yet another way for IntelliTec to give back to the community.
IntelliTec’s student Christmas party will be from 3pm to 5pm on Wednesday, December 18th in Room 106. Students are encouraged to bring friends and family out to celebrate with them. Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and enjoy festive holiday treats like hot cocoa and stockings stuffed with goodies. “The Christmas Party is our way of giving a little back to our students. Events like this help raise campus morale and make the students realize that we care,” says Dr. Scott.
The IntelliTec Student Ambassadors will be hosting the Christmas party this year. They have been busy decorating and planning Christmas themed activities for the children. They will also offer free pictures with Santa for the party goers. Dr. Scott says that “In the past all of these events have been very successful. The students enjoy them enough that we have continued to have them throughout the years.”
Santa will also attend the Staff/Faculty Christmas Party on the 21st of December. This party will give the employees the chance to bring their friends and families to the campus to celebrate the holidays with them and for their children to visit with Santa.[boilerplate about-grand-junction]
