Even basic computer software can have it’s daily challenges. Here are some tips on how to get past the challenges and make your software work effectively for you.
A great way to organize email is Categories. Set up categories by using the Categorize bottom in the Tags group, and choose All Categorizes. A keyboard shortcut can be assigned. After processing your email, categorizing as you go, click the Categories column title at the top twice. The first time sorts noncategorized items to the top. The second puts the categorized ones at the top. On the Vew tab in the Arrangement group, click the Expand/Collapse button to collapse all groups. Then process one category at a time.

If you are unsure of the venue in which you’ll be presenting your slides, you might want to have a “Plan B” Slide Master. For example, in large darkened auditoriums, a darker or shaded background might be preferable. Before packing up to give your presentation, access your Slide Master (View, Master Views group, Slide Master). Right-click on the master slide, at the top, and choose Duplicate the Slide Master. Change the background on the new master and make any other needed adjustments. This way, it’s just a matter of changing the layouts of the slides to the darker background choices.
