Last year, IntelliTec College in Grand Junction made a number of improvements to its facilities, instructional approach and curricula.
Welcome New Campus Staff Members
We welcomed to campus our Dean of Faculty Dean Blair and our new Campus Director Larry Lipner. Their nearly 60 years of combined educational administration experience is already creating positive growth and change on campus.
Instructors Working Hard to Enrich Student Learning
Our instructors have had a total of three Professional Development Seminars in 2012, and they have been working hard at enhancing their presentation of material to improve student learning. Four more seminars are scheduled for 2013.
New Student Center
We have a brand new Student Center in room 207, which provides a quiet area for students to practice certification tests, study and do research and group projects. The desktops all have a listing of online links to local area resources (housing, child care, counseling services, financial assistance, food programs, etc.) to make it easy for students to find the help they need in the community.
Tec Cafe Improvements
The Tec Café has added fresh salads in the warmer months and hot soup in winter, along with 25-cent fountain drinks, fruit drinks, and iced tea based on student requests.
IntelliTec Goes “Green”
As part of a “Go Green” initiative to reduce unnecessary waste, IntelliTec added recycling bins and started providing reusable thermal cups to students for use on campus.
Starting this term, we are launching a new smoking awareness campaign to increase understanding of how smoking impacts our health and career goals.
Keep those good ideas coming, as we use them for continuous improvement on your campus and in your classes. Here’s to a healthy and successful New Year together. Thank you for making a difference![boilerplate about-grand-junction]
