Planning to apply to IntelliTec College, but you don’t have your high school degree or equivalent? We are here to help.
As an admissions requirement to IntelliTec, we require students to have earned their GED® or high school diploma before starting with our programs. Since you must earn your GED® for admission, we want to offer options to help you along the way!
That’s why our Pueblo campus offers GED® test preparation. The classes both teach you the material that will be on the test, and also give you the strategies you need to succeed and pass the exam.
Once you are fully prepared to take the test, you can then sign up to take the GED® exam at our Grand Junction campus. Even before you enroll at IntelliTec, we are cheering you on and finding ways to help you succeed!

What is the GED®?
The GED, also known as the General Equivalency Development (or Diploma), is an exam that measures if a student has a high school level education.
To measure this, the test is comprised of some of the most relevant and important subjects that are taught in a high school classroom. The test today includes the following subjects:
- Social Studies
- Language Arts, Reading
- Language Arts, Writing
By studying for the GED in your test prep classes, you get to dive right into learning new things and rediscovering areas of study that interest you.
Why is the GED® Important?
The GED is important because, for many people, it is a second chance. Often, for those of us who dropped out of high school or did not earn the grades to graduate from high school, we can be met with challenges in the real world.
If you have ever thought “if only I had graduated high school,” then the GED test is your solution! Not only does passing the GED put you on the track to higher education and better jobs, but it also can boost your self esteem and ignite your passion for learning.
While studying for the GED, you may even find subjects that you are skilled in and love! For instance, if you find yourself fascinated by science, you may choose a medical program once you start at IntelliTec.
Once I Pass the GED, What’s Next?
Once you pass the GED test, congratulations! The world of opportunity is open to you. Consider what experience and additional training you will need to get into a new career.
If you aren’t sure what next step is best for you, read more about the career training programs offered at IntelliTec College. With your earned GED, you can now apply to become a student at IntelliTec College, finding a program that will lead you to a promising new career.

Tip: Take the CBT Tutorial Before You Test!
Colorado is a state that has jurisdiction to combine written test scores with Computer Based Testing (CBT) scores. There is a tutorial under the “educators” section of the GED testing service website that shows students what the CBT version of the 2014 series test looks like. It is beneficial to take the tutorial before you test.
