"I’ve been tearing apart computers since I was 14 years-old, but that doesn’t mean I live and die by technology. I enjoy the outdoors and escaping to the mountains when I can."

Tom feels strongly that IntelliTec College offers one of the best CNST Programs in Colorado. His extensive experience in the industry contributes to the over 100 years of experience program instructors offer students at the Colorado Springs campus. And according to him, that number directly correlates to more quality instruction for students – in and out of the classroom.

Get to know Thomas...

  • What is it about this career field you enjoy so much? Technology is ever changing, and I can certainly attest to this evolution during my 30+ years working on computers. I’ve never been bored doing what I do, and I guess it’s because I have such a passion for computers. Not everyone can say that about his or her careers.
  • Please share a memorable moment you’ve experienced at IntelliTec. I was nominated for Instructor of the Year for the Colorado Association of Career Colleges. I didn’t win but it was a great honor to be recognized by Campus Leadership. However, every graduation creates a memorable moment. Watching the students, from ALL programs walk across the stage and knowing that I have made some impact on their lives…there is no more rewarding feeling than that.
  • Have you faced a difficult/challenging time in your life? If yes, how did you resolve the issue? Yes. Like everyone else I’ve dealt with highs and lows. My friends and family know I tend to internalize my feelings, so luckily they recognize when something is wrong. They are my “Battle Buddies;” the ones I turn to for support, and we mutually help put the smiles back on each other’s faces.
  • If you had to share advice for prospective students in your department, what would it be? Life can throw some curve balls at you. As long as you stay focused on the final objective, the only thing that can hold you back is you.
