Press Release – For Immediate Release

Colorado Springs, Colorado – IntelliTec College’s three campuses in Colorado collectively raised $1,203, plus donations, for Care and Share to support victims of the Waldo Canyon Wildfire and the firefighters that worked ceaselessly to contain it.

Donation boxes were placed on Wednesday, June 27th and by Friday they were already overflowing. Many of the donations were delivered to Care and Share immediately. On one trip, the donated items were immediately gobbled up by two local fire departments for distribution to evacuees and their firefighters. Everything was accepted with much gratitude.

Colorado Springs Campus Director Ray Ada said, “We wanted to be a part of the ongoing efforts to help the firefighters and those affected by the Waldo Canyon fire.” This attitude is shared by many of his colleagues including Dean of Faculty Dr. Scott, who says, “The demand for a way to help was immediate. We had both students and staff asking what we could do as an organization to help. One student donated several bags of food goods, while another donated $100. The response was immediate and has been ongoing.” There is no shortage of compassion amongst students and staff alike.

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) has been heavily involved in the charitable efforts along with plenty of other students, staff and faculty. Dr. Scott said, “You cannot really pin it down to a few; it is a campus effort.”
